Hmm! Not sure what happened to Day 4 and 5.<br />
Maybe, it was because it was a Monday and<br />
then a day at the doctor's office<br />
Both of these were painted in December <br />
Here's a little teapot. 5"x7" watercolor<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEicSGBZIAcoldbn6_WfcYXYgQ8duj-yxqg6W3GMO5L_U_UEn5d0zjwBc8KfbUbfan03L3RSLxiBetEULcshWhiLWE5vdwg9wdNHt-Vw_dKzyFUSGb9KymCrh8b1F8pV6U-dfDTRpj6_5ug/s1600/1211152036a%257E2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEicSGBZIAcoldbn6_WfcYXYgQ8duj-yxqg6W3GMO5L_U_UEn5d0zjwBc8KfbUbfan03L3RSLxiBetEULcshWhiLWE5vdwg9wdNHt-Vw_dKzyFUSGb9KymCrh8b1F8pV6U-dfDTRpj6_5ug/s320/1211152036a%257E2.jpg" width="206" /> </a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
And for Day 5, I cheated a bit. This was a commission that<br />
I painted for a customer as a Christmas gift for her husband.<br />
"Wayne's Corvette"<br />
<br />

I saw "Lorie" at a craft show.<br />
When I saw her hat (not cowboy) and her sweet smile<br />
I knew I wanted to paint her. I needed to catch just the right light,<br />
so we stepped to the door which just happily<br />
happened to be red. YeeHaw! And her red plaid shirt, perfect!!!<br />

Happy 2016! What resolutions have you made?<br />
The top in <a href="http://www.nielsen.com/us/en/insights/news/2015/2015s-top-new-years-resolution-fitness.html" target="_blank">2015</a> were:<br />
1. Get healthy 2. Lose weight 3. Enjoy life<br />
4. Spend less, save more 5. More time with family and friends<br />
6. Get organized 7. Don't make a resolution<br />
8. Learn something new 9. Travel more 10. Read more <br />
<br />
11. PAINT MORE!!!<br />
(not on the Nielsen's poll. LOL!)<br />
It has been awhile since I participated in Leslie Saeta's<br />
<a href="http://30paintingsin30days.weebly.com/blog" target="_blank">30 Paintings in 30 Days</a>, but it's time to do it again!!!<br />
She suggested to choose a theme or subject.<br />
so I am thinking...<br />
I am working on a series - "Hat People" (will post later)<br />
and for Christmas, hubby and I went to San Antonio.<br />
We loved the Mission Trail. So, I am also painting missions.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
During a 3 hour layover at the Denver airport,</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I saw a very striking, red-headed gal sporting</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
a cowboy hat and green leather jacket. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwa-ex_sr5Lf5NgmoXTGIf-0PkSGNcoi7vmvhBe54iuG3iZtyefjvQeIHG25SfNFO0VX7SONx2e1xgGFZ3-K6-OYUrCe3yDQMBxtaBjPr70hcOFxEvJrdau67ZuQj8zgcDTbIrg4JQcuQ/s1600/Angie+d.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwa-ex_sr5Lf5NgmoXTGIf-0PkSGNcoi7vmvhBe54iuG3iZtyefjvQeIHG25SfNFO0VX7SONx2e1xgGFZ3-K6-OYUrCe3yDQMBxtaBjPr70hcOFxEvJrdau67ZuQj8zgcDTbIrg4JQcuQ/s320/Angie+d.jpg" width="264" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I introduced myself to her and asked if I could </div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
take her picture and paint her portrait. </div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
She was delighted that I found her "striking" </div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
since she had been at the airport for 7 hours.</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
And I was delighted at the sound of her voice (accent).</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Her name is Angie and she is from England.</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Thought you might enjoy seeing the work</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
in progress.</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgN5Hz3r8fBj5XubjpVy0PBLPzdmtu4CmYTxmk0FrI5nqSCcJuuE1irODVOePn25L1CgbCaypgovwCjEVw1wncuNRfGteHuZbsfhVsjjv_hNnXJtkQ9kD-XasOUn45WP1hJOK4KZFwfPjk/s1600/Angie+a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgN5Hz3r8fBj5XubjpVy0PBLPzdmtu4CmYTxmk0FrI5nqSCcJuuE1irODVOePn25L1CgbCaypgovwCjEVw1wncuNRfGteHuZbsfhVsjjv_hNnXJtkQ9kD-XasOUn45WP1hJOK4KZFwfPjk/s320/Angie+a.jpg" width="234" /></a></div>
This is actually the second layer. First layer was </center>
<center>
a purple wash, like on the cowboy hat. The flesh wash</center>
<center>
was a mix of cranberry and yellow, burnt sienna for the hair.</center>
<center>
I masked a few areas that needed to be white or very light.</center>
<center>
</center>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh0CKP2Hqmed6ToHhMgGdUvgWOV7hsCrBoP1rKtCnUsa2jgw-3T7gsZTpsFw5WKOxAEhLj2qG5-vQ6UHtJJlYjeL-zgCC4cAy1aEWxDP4eeTcqGdc4qKF31YJz6CrxmISB3S6Nn8QPvPAI/s1600/Angie+b.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh0CKP2Hqmed6ToHhMgGdUvgWOV7hsCrBoP1rKtCnUsa2jgw-3T7gsZTpsFw5WKOxAEhLj2qG5-vQ6UHtJJlYjeL-zgCC4cAy1aEWxDP4eeTcqGdc4qKF31YJz6CrxmISB3S6Nn8QPvPAI/s320/Angie+b.jpg" width="198" /></a></div>
<center>
Added shadows and a grey wash to the hat.</center>
<center>
</center>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjCm5z-n8LqqdbbEzBnuPVyZZqKv81ouDqXFqGtGygBZregww0S-h7BY3BUL2QkWkh0Yiq2YMoP0Vhoksm3qmHvKikvUTqwaTNgKix_j0BMTGnqi-r8hAcmmiKdbZR6MBuqfT-OCmJGrGw/s1600/Angie+c.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjCm5z-n8LqqdbbEzBnuPVyZZqKv81ouDqXFqGtGygBZregww0S-h7BY3BUL2QkWkh0Yiq2YMoP0Vhoksm3qmHvKikvUTqwaTNgKix_j0BMTGnqi-r8hAcmmiKdbZR6MBuqfT-OCmJGrGw/s320/Angie+c.jpg" width="204" /></a></div>
<center>
For the background, I repeated the </center>
<center>
colors from her hair and jacket. </center>
<center>
I removed the masking fluid and </center>
<center>
adjusted the details.</center>
<center>
<br /></center>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj7LuUUXFBibE7LWXLkM6zkILzAcay8I6MR9TnEWuGYS9V9uh0d_tjuUReNM4yAq5YnwKINFrFoX6UgY_ednkwfmuceBEiWkxvSHtICWKjPKyuM_qQmK48BnxFLysLz0-2JtsOU5MYrUFI/s1600/Angie+d.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj7LuUUXFBibE7LWXLkM6zkILzAcay8I6MR9TnEWuGYS9V9uh0d_tjuUReNM4yAq5YnwKINFrFoX6UgY_ednkwfmuceBEiWkxvSHtICWKjPKyuM_qQmK48BnxFLysLz0-2JtsOU5MYrUFI/s320/Angie+d.jpg" width="264" /></a></div>
<center>
She had a lovely smile but my favorite shot</center>
<center>
was this one, looking just a little thoughtful.</center>
<center>
Thank you, Angie for allowing</center>
<center>
me into your space for just a moment!!!<br /><div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

We cut, glued, blended, printed, painted, stamped,<br />
smeared, stenciled, glazed, floated, scumbled, and doodled.</center>
<center>
We fussed, discussed, celebrated, cried, and rejoiced.We got our hands dirty.<br />
We had fun!!! <br />
We stretched our minds around new techniques.<br />
But more important than discovering and uncovering<br />
new skills to make art was the art of making friends.<br />
<br />
For me, it is the friendships that have made in the midst of<br />
spilled paint and spilled tears,<br />
torn paper and torn lives,<br />
shared ideas and shared grief,<br />
<br />
excitement over a successful work of art<br />
and excitement over an answered prayer.<br />
For me, it is a little about art and<br />
a whole lot about relationships!!!<br />
To God Be The Glory!!! <br />
<br />

I really do PAINT almost every day!!!</center>
<center>
<br /></center>
<center>
So back track to February, I told you I would give you</center>
<center>
highlights about my (our) year. Hubby had a sonogram</center>
<center>
on his liver and a ct scan. His liver was enlarged and</center>
<center>
there were lots of spots on it. This was the beginning</center>
<center>
of many trips to many doctors and many tests.</center>
<center>
</center>
<center>
February also brought the beginning of the</center>
<center>

<center>
What an incredible</center>

A little late in the day but here is Day 2 of <a href="http://lesliesaeta.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Leslie Saeta's 30 day challenge</a>. </center>
<center>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjbNHQBwyIMJTvL2s6AybtKe7lN2QI_mPTDgFNLK9xysT_6bp_EUrofgdoFBPvbNxqdMhQf0ew7IHnqfSzZXQgquJqyuekMusEeO4ObHWZE0o-9ySAsAynW2chdb_yzuMUVobwYQiKHqXk/s1600/Poppy-Field-small.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjbNHQBwyIMJTvL2s6AybtKe7lN2QI_mPTDgFNLK9xysT_6bp_EUrofgdoFBPvbNxqdMhQf0ew7IHnqfSzZXQgquJqyuekMusEeO4ObHWZE0o-9ySAsAynW2chdb_yzuMUVobwYQiKHqXk/s1600/Poppy-Field-small.jpg" height="256" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
THE POPPY FIELD</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
watercolor on Arches 8x10</div>
</center>
<center>
I will be teaching another 4 week watercolor class in November.</center>
<center>
I am thinking this might be fun for the students. </center>
<center>
I am amazed at how delicate and fragile the poppies seem</center>
<center>
but when the west Texas winds blow hard it doesn't shred or destroy them. </center>
<center>
They just seem to dance in the wind. </center>
<center>
</center>
<center>
Speaking of hard winds, I told you I wouldn't bombard you </center>
<center>
but I do want to share a little about my year,</center>
<center>
our year, one month at a time! </center>
<center>
In January, my brother-in-law finished his</center>
<center>
the race and his battle with liver cancer. He fought</center>
<center>
long and hard. We stood in faith with him and my sister.</center>
<center>
We prayed hard, we believed, and we trusted.</center>
<center>
Then, we grieved and we celebrated his life and his home going.</center>
<center>
Like those poppies, we are stronger than we look </center>
<center>
but it is because of His grace.</center>
<center>
2 Corinthians 12:9 "<i><span class="st"><em>My</em> grace is sufficient for thee: </span></i></center>
<center>
<i><span class="st">for <em>my strength</em> is <em>made perfect in weakness</em>."</span></i> </center>
<center>
<br /></center>
<center>
<i>"The rain came down, the streams rose, and </i></center>
<center>
<i>the <u>winds blew</u> and beat against that house;</i></center>
<center>
<i> yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock."</i></center>
<center>
Matthew 7:25</center>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
It has been almost a year since I have blogged. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
There was one post in October 2013 after I was involved in </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
my last<a href="http://lesliesaeta.blogspot.com/" target="_blank"> Leslie Saeta 30 day challenge</a>.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
It has been an incredible year and a hard year with lots of </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
blessings and lots of challenges - most that had nothing to do with art. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I may or may not share about that along the way.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
And if I do I will not bombard you all at once.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
But one thing for sure - when life is hard, God is Good!. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So here is Day 1 of the challenge. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjAts1aopB-SCU7Ye_blqJoBGFyTlYnjcibG1FdmOE72KmvHOrxgwiTgtv-Lur-teFCNpbGckcL8GhrQKaoGbt2VJh_vFEsVPRMD5y5wP5K9ERsdI9rQpx1S0mz45U5IP9YVZn721ijNzs/s1600/orange-slices-small.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjAts1aopB-SCU7Ye_blqJoBGFyTlYnjcibG1FdmOE72KmvHOrxgwiTgtv-Lur-teFCNpbGckcL8GhrQKaoGbt2VJh_vFEsVPRMD5y5wP5K9ERsdI9rQpx1S0mz45U5IP9YVZn721ijNzs/s1600/orange-slices-small.jpg" height="256" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<i>ORANGE SLICES</i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
8"X10" - Arches 140 lb cold press</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I just got in a new set of <a href="http://www.dickblick.com/products/qor-modern-watercolor-sets/" target="_blank">Golden QOR</a> watercolors</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
from <a href="http://www.dickblick.com/" target="_blank">Dick Blick</a>!!! They are so vibrant and concentrated!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I also made a video of this painting but I have to edit before I post.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Hopefully I am back for awhile but </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I am not making any promises.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I do have a few <a href="https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCLH6YY8goW2J9I1KSB7wbog" target="_blank">videos</a> that I have recently put on <a href="https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCLH6YY8goW2J9I1KSB7wbog" target="_blank">youtube</a>. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
They are from the classes that I have been teaching at</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
WTC- College on the Square. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So when you have a minute or soooo...check them out!!!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span class="text John-10-10" id="en-NIV-26492"><span class="woj">"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; </span></span></div>

The 30 paintings in 30 days challenge is over.<br />
It was a challenge. I do paint almost everyday<br />
but I don't always get something finished.<br />
Oh well, moving on...<br />
I have a couple of new watercolor students<br />
and that keeps me on my toes.<br />
One student has painted on her own for<br />
several years and the other has lost the use<br />
of her right hand and is learning to paint<br />
with her left hand. They are both amazing.<br />
Hopefully, soon, they will let me post pictures<br />
of the paintings they did today. But until then,<br />
here is what we did.<br />
I painted this one first so they would have an example.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhrXeRGV4d9_ld2ReMJ5971ksc-Y4dR4cTm7JTpxaBlMX7mIMwinF4p1ydGui0qUZvvplbzvcqO7UvYyL1G8rRWYszhfbVoBLOsM0Yis4Qx7QBg0DWLN5d3T43IXdDNUPNKQ17I1H-q4gE/s1600/Single-Daisy-5x7-Nathalie-Kelley-sm.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhrXeRGV4d9_ld2ReMJ5971ksc-Y4dR4cTm7JTpxaBlMX7mIMwinF4p1ydGui0qUZvvplbzvcqO7UvYyL1G8rRWYszhfbVoBLOsM0Yis4Qx7QBg0DWLN5d3T43IXdDNUPNKQ17I1H-q4gE/s320/Single-Daisy-5x7-Nathalie-Kelley-sm.jpg" width="228" /></a></div>
And then I showed them that if<br />
they weren't happy with their painting<br />
to outline with a fine tipped marker<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhOUojIC3FXycjiqd2x0zNX2XmGeGXM6dhsiCMDrb4waVQjuDI3rYvgv5cu5HRW2sgfczvPisG83F-VA5xLM4orASaaww_4B9kct4ej4qYYfDQ79OObAf99Y770mJ-gKGKmMYJIDQQKyt4/s1600/Single+Daisy+inked+5x7+Nathalie+Kelley.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhOUojIC3FXycjiqd2x0zNX2XmGeGXM6dhsiCMDrb4waVQjuDI3rYvgv5cu5HRW2sgfczvPisG83F-VA5xLM4orASaaww_4B9kct4ej4qYYfDQ79OObAf99Y770mJ-gKGKmMYJIDQQKyt4/s320/Single+Daisy+inked+5x7+Nathalie+Kelley.jpg" width="228" /></a></div>
<br />
Or add some splatters!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhL2AMmjxluwv4FjlYTMHbroB0LxqJ47FK465rZYXB6YCaeqBdMXZFJVta7t8NL4CSuppagDpVqHBltpDNo1c1oby7GSO1gOoZmMrIgt6eRpRU12_tLP8nkp5Vluadu5V8Tm6JvZzU-Q-c/s1600/Single-Daisy-Splattered-5x7-Nathalie-Kelley.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhL2AMmjxluwv4FjlYTMHbroB0LxqJ47FK465rZYXB6YCaeqBdMXZFJVta7t8NL4CSuppagDpVqHBltpDNo1c1oby7GSO1gOoZmMrIgt6eRpRU12_tLP8nkp5Vluadu5V8Tm6JvZzU-Q-c/s320/Single-Daisy-Splattered-5x7-Nathalie-Kelley.jpg" width="228" /></a></div>
<br />
What do you think?<br />

<center>
Ahhh! Rain at the retreat! And we had to be out in it several times.</center>
<center>
There were umbrellas everywhere! All, colors, all sizes, all different!</center>
<center>
I thought about the umbrellas and the ladies that were at the </center>
<center>
retreat. Some were closed up tight, some were pretty</center>
<center>
complicated to open, but once opened were beautiful. </center>
<center>
Some were small and had room for only one under the canopy, </center>
<center>
some had room for two,and some room for 4 or 5!</center>
<center>
Some were dark, some were colorful, </center>
<center>
and some had bright happy designs. </center>
<center>
Some were wide open, curved top to the sky, protecting those </center>
<center>
who sought shelter beneath. But, at the end of the day my</center>
<center>
favorite one and the one that almost shouted to me </center>
<center>
was the bright blue one with it's handle toward the sky, </center>
<center>
with raindrops gathering inside the umbrella. </center>
<center>
The ribs looked like hands lifted in praise to me. </center>
<center>
</center>
<center>
By the end of our 72 hour retreat,</center>
<center>
most of us looked like that umbrella, our hearts filled</center>
<center>
with His love and our hearts and hands lifted in praise. </center>
<center>
</center>

<center>
I grabbed a few minutes this morning to</center>
<center>
paint this strawberry. It was a beautiful, yummy,</center>
<center>
and delicious <i>looking</i> strawberry! </center>
<center>
BUT Looks Can Be Deceiving!!!</center>
<center>
I can feel it in the back of my jaws </center>
<center>
just typing about it. Not sweet or delicious.</center>

It is the oldest mission in the USA and it is in Santa Fe. </center>

There is a tree in the courtyard but I decided to add a few more branches.</center>
<center>
Some are reaching toward heaven,</center>
<center>
some are are reaching out and </center>
<center>
some are reaching down. </center>

The oldest mission should be our mission,</center>

my mission - Love Reaching!</center>

<center>
6"X9" Mixed Media on Arches paper</center>
<center>
</center>
I like this better now. It is more purple than </center>
<center>
the photo shows. Shades of purples, blues and greens.</center>
Here's what I did. I have some paper towels</center>
<center>
that I have saved from my silk dying projects.</center>
<center>
They have some beautiful mingled colors.</center>
<center>
<br /><center>
</center>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<center>
</center>
<center>
I used a plastic doily for the wing design. I sprayed</center>
<center>
acrylic on the back (it's flat) and used it like a stamp.</center>
<center>
</center>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEioqccQGvt7v1NmyyDa4_QRM_Uq5MDc2xaaRoC5L-el8c03kP9FK7Unv9aOtq6rxPKkZeDoqU411thfVJWKe7L055WSGIfJs4QenFU7gqwX0n_DJy_45DM7ZYd8lLrAthgMyF8WSItylMo/s1600/IMG_0692sm.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEioqccQGvt7v1NmyyDa4_QRM_Uq5MDc2xaaRoC5L-el8c03kP9FK7Unv9aOtq6rxPKkZeDoqU411thfVJWKe7L055WSGIfJs4QenFU7gqwX0n_DJy_45DM7ZYd8lLrAthgMyF8WSItylMo/s320/IMG_0692sm.jpg" width="224" /></a></div>

</center>
<center>
I used Collage Podge to adhere the torn pieces of paper towel </center>
<center>
and a permanent marker for the wing outlines. </center>
<center>

</center>
<center>
Little touches of Golden brand interference </center>
<center>
iridescent paint on the wings and body.</center>
<center>
I wish you could see the soft shimmer.</center>
<center>
</center>

<center>
</center>
<center>
I stenciled "FLY" and added highlights</center>
<center>
and shadows with oil pastels. Doodles around the edges.</center>
<center>
All done.<br /><center>
