My friend, Trina has this great blog.
She had a photo of this beautiful rose that
was growing in her yard. I thought it was breathtaking.
I asked if I could use the image as a reference for
this watercolor. I didn't know the name of the rose
but thought that surely it was "Rose of Sharon".
With that pure white center and the tips of the petals
that looked as if they were edged with blood,I thought
of Jesus and the purity of His Life and the brutality of
His death, just for me (and you)!
Oh my goodness. I was just looking at your rose painting. It was so deeply moving as I watched the rose come into being. Nathalie, God has not only given you gifts in the arts, but of spiritual art, to see beyond the natural of something and into the spiritual. Blessings!
